For In our first hybrid gathering, we continued our work learning about Dr. Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model, specifically looking at the Sequence of Engagement (Regulate-Relate-Reason). Curt Teff talked about the importance of acknowledging the stories we tell ourselves internally and how those stories affect our interactions with others. We watched Dr. Perry's video on the Sequence of Engagement and then watched a news story from Boston that showed an example of how interactions can become confrontations if we don't enter into them feeling regulated.

At the last Community of Practice, we heard from many of our Champions about challenges they were facing with overwhelm on their teams, dealing with staff turnover, and maintain momentum as the pandemic continues. We dedicated our Champion Development session to our Champions and what they can do to build their own resilience and that of their teams. We talked about a resource from Dr. Bruce Perry from the Neurosequential Network and heard about how the La Crosse School District will be using these resources with their staff to address burnout.
