Gain an introduction to the Resilient and Trauma-Informed Community (RTIC) effort by attending a Foundation session. This virtual, 3-hour session begins with a screening of the film Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope, followed by group conversation and activities on Resilience and Empathy. New! You can also watch the film on your own: search for the film title (produced by KPJR Films) on Vudu, Google Movies, or Apple to either rent ($2-3) or purchase a personal copy ($8). You will learn about how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and childhood/community traumas affect adult health and socioeconomic outcomes, and how building skills in empathy, compassion, and self-awareness will prepare you to address the impacts of ACEs in your personal and professional life.

The RTIC Community of Practice brings together champions to share best practices they are implementing in order to be more resilient and trauma-informed. At these gatherings, we will meet by sector, so that champions in similar organizations can learn from each other about working toward resilient organizations, effective partnerships and efficient systems that disrupt the cycle of trauma, strengthen resilience, and restore lives.
