The RTIC Community of Practice brings together champions who have been through orientation to share best practices they are implementing in order to be more resilient and trauma-informed. These gathering highlight how our community is working toward resilient organizations, effective partnerships and efficient systems that disrupt the cycle of trauma, strengthen resilience, and restore lives.

Foundation Sessions
Building a Foundation for this work in our communities focuses on creating the conditions to support community change.
Gain an introduction to Resilient and Trauma-Informed Community effort and learn more about by attending a Foundation session. This virtual 3 hour session begins with a screening of the film Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope, followed by group conversation and activities on Resilience and Empathy. You will learn about how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and childhood/community traumas affect adult health and socioeconomic outcomes. You will begin to learn how to address this in your classroom, practice, agency, or home life and see how entire communities are coming together to address this important public health threat.

Community United for Families (CUFF) is a collaborative effort among community partners to support families through positive, preventative and sustainable approaches that help families solve challenges and reach their goals. Learn how your organization can join in partnership and engage in the collaborative effort supporting family safety, health and connection in our community.

Resource Roundtables empower Champions to share TIC resources, practices, or policy shifts with other Champions in the RTIC Network. Champions have opportunities to ask questions and learn more about specified TIC approaches that Champions are using. These sessions are discussion based.

At the February Community of Practice, Ann shared an overview of the trauma-informed efforts of Western Technical College. Learn how Western has been working to establish a TIC Foundation and Resilience Team to support advancement of trauma-informed resources, practice and approaches. Ask questions, explore together and gain insight into multiple trauma-informed actions that can support your organization’s trauma-informed journey!
